CartScout Privacy Policy

CartScout is an app for used golf cart listing records, buyer checks, and marketplace workflows. The app stores local listings, wanted posts, notes, seller contact fields, buyer contact fields, and selected listing photos on the user's device. When users choose live marketplace features, CartScout may sync profile details, listing details, selected listing photos, favorites, saved searches, lead threads, reports, and device notification tokens through CartScout's hosted backend. Private backup and sync may also use Apple's iCloud/CloudKit services for the user's Apple ID where available.

Short version: CartScout does not use ads, tracking SDKs, public fake inventory, or third-party data brokers. Apple handles App Store purchases. Users control the listing and wanted-post information they enter, and live marketplace records are used to provide listing sync, lead, favorite, alert, and moderation features.

Information Users May Store

Users may choose to store golf cart make, model, year, price, location, seller type, power type, battery type, seats, battery age, street-legal status, charger status, serial verification status, inspection readiness, notes, contact details, wanted-post details, and selected photos.

Local and Marketplace Records

CartScout keeps core records available in app storage and can use private iCloud/CloudKit backup and sync. Live marketplace features use a hosted backend so shared listings, selected listing photos, saved searches, favorites, lead threads, reports, profile records, and alert delivery can work across users and devices.

Photos

Photos are selected through Apple's PhotosPicker. CartScout does not request full photo-library browsing access. Users are responsible for choosing photos they have the right to store and share. Photos attached to live marketplace listings may be uploaded to hosted storage so those listings can display correctly.

No Sale, Sharing, Ads, or Tracking

CartScout does not sell user data. CartScout does not use advertising identifiers, cross-app tracking, ad networks, data brokers, or third-party marketing profiles in the current version.

Purchases

Paid products or subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple controls billing, refunds, taxes, subscription management, and App Store purchase history.

Security

CartScout uses platform-provided Apple storage, StoreKit, iCloud/CloudKit, photo selection, sharing features, and hosted server endpoints where applicable. Private backend credentials are not stored in the iOS app. No app, device, cloud provider, network, or backup system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.

Retention and Deletion

Local app records remain on the user's device unless the user edits, deletes, removes the app, changes device storage, or changes iCloud behavior. iCloud copies are controlled through the user's Apple ID and Apple settings. Hosted marketplace records may remain on CartScout systems as needed to provide listings, lead history, moderation, support, safety, and legal compliance unless removed or restricted through available app or support flows.
